Hello it has been a while since I last logged in and wrote anything.
But guess what...this is my 50th year, and once again I'm about to make huge changes in my life. Scary...totally, but I am sure it will be worth it.
So today I am 107.8 lbs and I have £9.07 in my savings account. Today I am giving up smoking and the plan is to put the daily cost of cigarettes in the bank. I am working on a 2 year plan to try save enough to be able to study abroad. So only £19,990.03 till I reach my target.
Any sugar daddies out there wanna help with the target feel free to donate ha ha ha
Until the next time
Cheerio
Well after FP1 being all about the Honda’s…guess what FP2 was once again all about Danni and Casey. It took Danni only 13 laps to hit the top spot with a time of 1.40.101, with Casey only 0.188 behind his fellow team mate with a time of 1.40.289.

All times were slightly slower than this morning due to there being a bit more wind out on the track than there had been in the morning session. There was also speculation on twitter that this was causing a few riders to miss their markers going into turn 1.

Less than one second split the top 8 riders with Nicky Hayden being in 8th place only 0.957 behind Danni. Valentino managed a credible 5th place marginally behind the San Carlo Honda of Marco Simoncelli with a time of 1.40.956.

Jorge Lorenzo was able to split the 3 Honda’s of Danni, Casey and Marco and the take 3rd spot with a lap of 1.40.623 and 0.522 behind Danni. But Marco was right behind him and only 0.600 off Danni’s time.

He showed fantastic grit and determination to catch and pass Jacob Smrz on the very last lap to take his maiden superbike win. After the race Carlos said "In Race 1 I was struggling at the start, I didn't have feeling with the rear tyre and as a result I lost a lot of positions. But I have to say it was one of the most exciting races of my career, so many riders touching, crashing, everything! After the first laps I was able to build up a good rhythm and start moving up through the pack one rider at a time. It wasn't easy but I pushed hard and then two laps from the end I realised that I could maybe get past Haslam too for third. I'm really happy because I didn't think I'd get from 11th on lap one to the podium. Hoping this would help, he returned to the race but only for 3 laps where he was forced to retire due to lack of grip. Michel said "It's just a shame about the first race. I'm not exactly sure what happened. All I know was that suddenly I had no rear grip at all going into Coppice. I went into the gravel, but managed not to crash. I thought there was something wrong with the rear tyre, so I pitted and changed the rear to a medium. My first lap was in the 1:30s and the second was pretty good also, but the third was way off the pace. From then, it got worse. I was dead last with no chance of catching anybody and, because I didn't feel safe carrying on, I pulled into the pits.

With only 2 rounds and 4 races left leaving only 100 points available, Leon Haslam certainly has his work cut out this weekend as he is 58 points shy of the current table leader. If Max "The Pirate" Biaggi finishes in front on Leon in both races, he can even win the championship a round early. As all us Brits are trying not to think the unthinkable, I'm sure I'm not alone when I say forgive me Max but we are all willing Leon on!
A couple of home wins and the Championship would be the icing on the cake for Max, who already has won 9 races this season. Last years race saw him pipped to the post by Haga in Race 1 and 4th in Race 2.
The Xerox Ducati squad were strong here last year with a 1st and 3rd in Race 1 and 1, 2 in Race 2...lets see how much difference a year makes and not to forget that all important team boss change that I keep referring to.
Nestled in 3rd place is Johnathan Rea who was very happy to announce that he has resigned with Ten Kate Honda for another year in WSBK. He is 64 points ahead of Carlos Checa in 4th place, and barring disaster and fingers crossed that I'm not doing a "Murray Walker" when I say 3rd must surely be his. Last year Johnny managed a 7th in Race 1 and a 6th in Race 2.
Sitting in 5th spot is Cal Crutchlow who is waiting to pounce on that 4th place this weekend. He is a mere 7 points behind Carlos. If his excitement at getting signed for MotoGP with Tech3 wasn't enough to clinch it, then I'm more than sure his current winning form will be.
Further down the table in a very lowly 7th place is JT52. Hopefully James can pick himself up, dust himself, and this season off and get back to the winning form that we all know he is more than capable of. We all know the rules of the game - 1. finish ahead of your team mate and 2. Points mean prizes...blah blah blah. But now that he has himself signed up to a new team (Mrs Toseland predicts BMW) he must wipe all of this years mishaps from his mind and concentrate on the finishing on a high. The possibility is still there for him next year to become the first superbike rider to win 3 championships with 3 different manufacturers.
Unfortunately Leon Camier will not be competing in this round due to his continued recovery from his broken Scaphoid. He is determined to return but has said he realises that there is not point doing this and risking another injury before his is fully fit. It is yet to be decided if he will be fit to compete in the last round of the Championship to be held at Magny Cours in France. The team and I wish Leon a full and speedy recovery.

Shane "Shakey" Byrne © Jen Watson Silverstone 2010

Another brit who would probably like to get this season finished and a start another fresh is Shane "Shakey" Byrne. Its already been well documented in the press that this weekend is "Make or Break" for Shane in terms of being resigned. He currently sits 12th in Championship, and with a DNF and 7th in last years races we know we can always can count on Shane to give it his all.
Once again, its all to play for in this exciting championship...but I can't help feeling sad that after this we only have 1 more round before what seems like that never ending off season.
As ever please add your comments.
As usual after a race weekend there is much chatter about riders swapping teams and championships.
So here is where we are so far. Yesterday Yamaha announced (finally) that Cal Crutchlow was off to MotoGP taking over from Ben Spies at Tech3. This morning I received an email from Yamaha announcing their signing of none other one Marco Melandri. I thought this was quite interesting as I kinda half expected that Noriyuki Haga might return to Yamaha(or maybe I just wished he would)since Ducati has announced that they would no longer be talking part in the WSBK championship next year.
Add to the rumour mill James Toseland telling Eurosport yesterday he was actively seeking a new ride as Yamaha wanted Italians on the team prompted alot of talk of Davide Tardozzi taking over from Massimo Meregalli, who is rumoured to be going to join Ben Spies in MotoGP. Oh yeah and there was also rumours that BMW want a more German team. Leading to more talk of the Melandri deal was linked to Tardozzi coming(they are neighbours apparently)and then this would probably mean the arrival of Michel Fabrizio since Davide Tardozzi is his personal manager.
Now I have to say that I didn't really get all the team manager hype and I wasn't Davide Tardozzi's biggest fan but think on this....since leaving Ducati(who last season were a force to be reckoned with) they have completely lost their racing mojo...but since his arrival at BMW they have won their first ever championship with Ayrton Badovini and the WSBK team have gone from strength to strength. Suppose looking at that you can see how Yamaha may want to pay to have him released from what was thought to have been a 3 year deal with BMW.
Wow what a tangled web we weave...so where does that leave James Toseland and Noriyuki Haga...by all accounts still looking for a ride for next year.
As ever jump in and leave your thoughts in the comments box..I love hearing all your takes on who is going where, when and why.
Happy Monday
After 2 "All Brit" podiums during the last round at Silverstone and with 5 of the Magnificent 7 in the top 10, this year's championship should have been all about the Brits. But with only 3 rounds and 150 points up for grabs, Max Biaggi and the Aprilia team obviously never received that memo. Even with a commanding lead of 60, Max is still refusing to "settle for points". So the battle lines have been drawn and Leon Haslam is out to keep the pressure on and is hoping to giving Max "something to think about!". Last year Leon managed a 6th and 5th place but felt he could have done better as he was pushed wide by Jonathan Rea in the 1st race and then off the track by Ben Spies in the 2nd.

Currently 130 points behind Max is Jonathan Rea, after the highs of 2nd place in both races at Silverstone, 3rd place in the championship is only his to lose. But with his 4th and 1st place results from last years race he surely must be in contention for a podium or 2.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8uFEq6wxSS7NLQrXcPEjxopcChrmTaqk1X6NE6LBJyK-GZUVkP60YpnNBtestf4VA54R3kRorfU89GaaqfVxsu4OiCTWPnmSMAN7Q-AKrz0bneJ2JJBP4A3tUPtjzFlJ81SlJr8YTgqh0/s320/IMG_8146.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="Cal Crutchlow Silverstone 2010 © Jen Watson" />But lets not forget the "Man of the moment" and resident "Pole King" Cal Crutchlow after 2 fantastic home victories at Silverstone he has to have his sights set on trumping last years R6 wins by winning on the R1. For Cal the summer break is always too long and he can't wait to get back to business in Germany.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 134px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitDFRZeUJUNMPFFJPhcXa2opsJQOokRwgsGNi8sOktwlfrHKZnND4ai3UUJ5ncl6HLVbpORCqnTyajjC-03ty5uIF7xDF0c1b_EqJQHR5sZ4wP25SEgFYCYGG6dKJp_0ra9tuw-Q3Qi3Xv/s320/IMG_7645.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="James Toseland Silverstone 2010 © Jen Watson" />Flip the coin (in more ways than one) to the other side of the Yamaha garage where you'll find James Toseland, who for one reason or another is not having the best season of his career. But if he only proves one thing this year, it has to to be that he just never gives up. Having started many of this seasons races from a less than favourable grid position his 6th place standing in the championship shows his steely determination and experience. Unfortunately James has not raced here at Nürburgring since he was 18 years old thus putting him on the back foot before he's even turned a wheel.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 134px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjY9JsA0iS4Th695CkWCrF7NPdPZYROFi9yalmaBcV7yT-ccfMWiIhawDLSTzopz4i301T1PL8-z-yRW4aUQwPCGp223n54sRoZyWxhFI2FA4cXyKXPQKtk6z6xAQHjiK806Cs53OGXsZQ0/s200/IMG_7705.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="Leon Camier Silverstone 2010 © Jen Watson" />Quietly nestled in 7th place in the championship is Leon Camier who has proved a worthy adversary and team mate for Max. Currently sitting on 164 points only 13 points behind James and 24 points behind Cal, Leon's recent form and podium at Silverstone says he is very much a man on the move and definitely not one to be ruled out.

Even with only 3 rounds left there is still room for a championship shuffle and plenty important places left to fight for. So as we head towards the weekend I'll leave you with this to contemplate. Spare a thought for the guys of the factory Ducati team, whose shock announcement regarding their departure from the WSBK paddock next year has left us with a few questions. Could it be that it is Rossi or bust for Ducati? What will happen to Michel Fabrizio and Noriyuki Haga? I'll say only this...take a look at these 2 photographs both taken by me at Silverstone 2010.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 134px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJ_XfwsGNgMJ8kt6L-1hDJqvzW0RHpqU8Qb0FLOEPM5kHuIdcZcYHdrn1sIjerkn4ttLEpP2iYyzYNU7xfmiR-wL5d8wqU4_n9IilKEWV0C2ByJcKQraz7kOOyWiKYBQH-PHr1jDcZyRV4/s200/IMG_7637.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="Michel Fabrizio Silverstone 2010 © Jen Watson" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1yRT19SpYSHILUwj5EaOdMjzEKiX2JaRTq7lheglvLrxy9l8Hl4j0WMgWzkYt7Aqvu5xxM19EnhfZycjAPOIbD0VAfUn5hqRc8m83MIYsXGGJPmwaeg0kFrZnz_5-CwydgrNv65opAjzB/s320/IMG_7825.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="Noriyuki Haga Silverstone 2010 © Jen Watson" />
I can't help wondering if the very relaxed looking Michel Fabrizio has already secured a ride for next year, whilst Nori definitely has his mind on other things. All that coupled with a successful recent test where Leon tried out new Ohlins front forks and after posting quicker laps times, he will now go ahead use them for the race.

The other teams testing recently at Misano were Yamaha, Aprilia and BMW. Day 2 of the test saw Yamaha’s Carl Crutchlow (1:36.2) and James Toseland (1:36.3) top the timing sheets. Very closely followed by BMW’s Troy Corser and Suzuki’s Leon Haslam who both posted the same time of 1:36.4

Both Xerox Ducati and Althea Ducati also held their 2 day test at Misano during World Ducati Week which saw Troy Bayliss prove he hasn’t lost his passion for the sport by posting a blistering time of 1:35.6. Troy managed to post these times with a new prototype race tyre, and even using a qualifying tyre couldn’t help either Noriyuki Haga or Michel Fabrizio to bridge the gap. Surely this can’t be doing much for the mood or the mojo inside the Xerox garage, especially since Misano and Ducati have always equalled good results.

Carlos Checa was very happy to put the frustrations behind him after having to retire from both races at Miller Motor Sport whilst leading with a technical error thought to be related to the fly-by-wire throttle. He completed a successful test posting a time of 1:36.3. Hot on his heals was his team mate Shane "Shakey" Byrne and last year’s Race 1 2nd place man with a time of 1:36.6.

Let us not forget about the man who is currently 3rd in the Championship standings and last year’s Race 2 winner, Honda’s Jonathan Rea who is still recovering from his qualifying crash at Miller Motorsports Park where he sustained tyre burn injuries to his neck and shoulder. Although Honda did not participate in the testing Misano the team practised at their home track in Assen. Both riders were happy to report they had been working successfully to eliminate the chatter problems both have been recently suffering.

With only 24 championship points separating 3rd place man Jonathan Rea (151) and 7th placed man Troy Corser (127) the table is tight. Throw into the mix that 11 riders in the current paddock that have all had podiums at Misano in the last five years, can only mean one thing...yes ...it is going to be a great weekends racing!
JenWeeyin13http://www.blogger.com/profile/12062757220385613771noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214534972599667536.post-9783871032868081742009-11-07T10:04:00.000-08:002009-11-07T11:25:02.040-08:00OMG Thats ME!!!Hello Happy Saturday. Well that's another week that has kicked the bucket, wow we are flying towards Christmas.
A few things have happened since I last wrote anything here. Firstly a whole bunch of us (11 so far at the last count) have purchased tickets to the Gadget Show Live 2010, I cant wait and will admit that I'm a little over excited for grown up. Ah who cares..but I'm not sure what am more excited about...is it...halls and halls of gadgets, the live show, the pool in the Hilton, or the prospect of finally getting to meet my twitter pals. All of the above I think!! Its going to be a brilliant #GeekTweetup and if your reading this and you haven't got your ticket already.....wot are you waiting for....go and get it now!!! Friday 9th April 2010 - 4pm standard seating...come join us!!!
Last Saturday as some of you will already know @suziperry did interview at Rivera Radio with @rivrob. As we tuned in I realised that there were probably going to be a few people finding it difficult to get the interview to stream on their computer. I said a few sweary words myself whilst kicking my laptop into touch and I do this IT thing for a living. So I posted to Rob to ask if there would a link for a download. I thought this would be easier for most who either missed it or couldn't get the stream to work. Then low and behold right at the end of the interview Rob mentioned twitter and someone was encouraging others to listen by posting the link "weey in13 does that ring any bells!!" Yes it did take a few seconds for the penny to drop and I suddenly thought OMG that's ME!! After which Suzi then name checked me...at that point my tweetdeck lit up with messages from the others who were listening and I smiled. For us ordinary peeps its the little things that make a difference..when someone remembers your name, or remembers a small detail of your life... for a brief moment your are famous...or as some might say about me....infamous.lol Right after the warm fuzzy feeling that gives.... you pray to god...that you don't come across as some freaky space invading stalkery weirdo.....lol I'm not....honest
Most of you who come from twitter to read this will already know about the mouse episode.....yes living in the country is not always a bonus. I managed to dump £20 worth of diesel on my road to work..all due to a mouse eating through my fuel return pipe. A nice man at the Volkswagen garage gave me a replacement pipe for free. Unfortunately it was too big, so I had to heat shrink the pipe to get me home. Thank god I'm a little resourceful. Only to get up Saturday to find that Stuart Little had struck once again..this time duct tape tape did the trick till I got another bit of pipe..I'm happy to report that he hasn't been back since.
How could I forget to mention I've joined the gym...for those of you who know me...please stop laughing now...lol It is a well known JenFact that I hate anything diet or exercise related... I used to spend long shifts bouncing about the shop floor and never needed to either watch what I ate or go to the gym. I have relented, since I gave up smoking I'm sure have eaten more than double my own body weight in chocolate, which has subsequently doubled my body weight...ok not quite doubled...but its not to my liking. Am now driving a desk all day.... we won't talk about the fact that I'll be turning the big 40 next year...so shifting the extra pounds may be harder...ok I gave in an joined the gym. So far I have been twice and survived...I have till 6th December when I am weighed and measured again...then I'll let you know if its worth it!!!
One last thing I'd really like to draw your attention to. Last week @fierypinkgirl and @hellcatcustoms had a fire. So devastating was this fire that a video of it could be seen on their local news channel. I am very happy to report that no lives were lost, which so easily could have been much worse than it was. Unfortunately some very lovely custom bikes were, along with tools and part of the house. Yes they were insured but as we all know only to well some things are irreplaceable. Kelly's bike was a show bike and stunning. Today she tells me that because their agent forget to check the box that says custom she will only receive $800 for it.
Please please follow the link Rob's Blog to see pictures of the bikes before (they are stunning) and after. At the bottom of Rob's page he has included a way for people to donate to help out Kelly and Jase.
Enjoy the rest of you weekend
Jen
xxWeeyin13http://www.blogger.com/profile/12062757220385613771noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214534972599667536.post-22547308963614764872009-10-18T05:28:00.000-07:002009-10-18T06:07:38.516-07:00Breast Foot ForwardGood Afternoon - wow got up early this morning to watch MotoGP along with a few other nutters. I was really looking forward to this race as its a good track for virtual hubby. Unfortunately that wasn't to be today because, for the second time this season JT got a ride through penalty effectively ruining any chance he may have had at a good result. By the time I'm writing this I have to say I watched the start 4 times and still don't see it.... Not sure I'm liking Stoner's home race leathers and bike colours. Both he and the bike look someone has turned them inside out...lol
Still not smoked for a month now..but bloody hell managed to put on an extra half stone...so there will be no more snacking..and an abundance of fruit has been purchased which I was naturally bored with after the first 24 hours, but i'm sticking with it. I even went out for a run on Friday something I have not done for years. I quite enjoyed it..so much so...I may even do it again...lol
As the month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, we twitter users dedicate Wedneaday as #BoobieWednesday by the time early evening comes, I have decided to join in. This involves changing your avatar to a rather more revealing cleavage shot. After several goes at getting a decent shot, I change my avatar...holy cow I actually blushed, as I suddenly think...I am the only idiot who actually just posted a shot of themselves instead of finding one on the internet. I feel extrememly exposed as I think that hundreds of people have just a whole lot more of me than I or even they wanted to...well apart from my lily white ass I suppose...Jeez this is getting a bit of a habit...lol As more and more of my regular twitter friends join in, I start to feel quite liberated and when the guys stump up and also get involved the evening turns into a hoot, which does not end until this very wee hours of the night...2.40am I can honestly say I have not laughed as much and as hard for so long. We can now look forward to Testicular Cancer Month, though I am a little concerned about what those avatars are gonna look like...lol
After our late twitter nite Thursday is a bit of a drag but thankfully I am off Friday so its all good. During the holidys work is quiet so the day passes easily with the help of a few double pumper coffees.
Friday evening is spent in the twitter pub where far too many beers are drank which makes Saturday a bit hazy. I spend the afternoon on the golf course. The weather is beautiful and by the time my round is complete my hangover is all gone.
Friday 4th December put it your diary, for those of you who can make it...we are having a tweet-up in Ayr.
If you need or want more details DM me @weeyin13 on twitter.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend
Jen
xxWeeyin13http://www.blogger.com/profile/12062757220385613771noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214534972599667536.post-78986635438634471102009-10-04T11:03:00.000-07:002009-10-07T05:19:57.393-07:00Forgive mePlease forgive me, its been 1 month since my last blog post. Wow where has the time gone.
In the time since my last blog I have won a few more rounds at the golf, had a birthday, and given up smoking. Not really a fun packed month...lol
Giving up smoking....now there is a thing I thought I'd never be able to manage. Without the support of my fellow twitter quitters I may honestly not have made it. It is true what they say, everybody needs to feel supported and believe me, I have been. I say to all of you who are sitting on the fence on this one, go on....do it....don't think about it..you don't need to....and you can really do this. I put my ability to quitting down to being a typically subborn female, it was not gonna get the better of me or my pocket any longer. I find myself proudly announcing the weeks, days, hours, and minutes since I quit, and it feels good. Currently 3WKS 1DY 3HRS and 13MINS smoke free!!!
My birthday was Friday, and so another year bites the dust and I am once again older and wiser...lol No I'm not telling you what age I am...lol....lets just say am hanging on to my 30's....even if it is only by my finger tips....lol
We celebrate by having a twitter pub party and as usual I end up in the jail. I am astounded by the number of party goers who join us and I am totally bowled over by the many birthday wishes I receieve from far and wide and from the famous and the not so famous.
It is a weekend of sports - WSBK, MotoGP and F1 - not to mention the ol' firm match..an of course I find myself working.
Sad news reaches us and it is confirmed that James (Virtual Hubby) will be returning to WSBK next year, I am totally gutted for him. On the other hand I am delighted to have him back in a paddock where I'm sure he will be greatly recieved and of course kick butt!! Not mention the fact that we get 2 races every meet and the British round is at Donnington August 1st - mark it on the calendars peeps - I'll be there and I'd love to see all youz there too.
So my friend Kevin is helping with the launch of the new Triumph Rocket 3 Roadster which has a 2.3 Litre engine in a bike...now thats just sick isn't it...lol
Check out Kevin doing the stunts on the Rocket in this promo video
by clicking here
And another blog bites the dust - cheerie :)
JenWeeyin13http://www.blogger.com/profile/12062757220385613771noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214534972599667536.post-3211196808085338062009-09-07T06:33:00.000-07:002009-09-10T05:10:05.898-07:00Shoe ThrowingWOW Where did the weekend go!!! I think that's a phrase that is all too familiar for everyone. So it is now Monday afternoon, and I've got 5 mins peace at work and I think now would be a good time to write some "stuff" in here.
I find myself slipping back to my favourite topic at the moment Twitter and I'm wondering if all the people who are actually reading this have crossed over from Twitter? Perhaps you could leave a comment at the bottom of this and let me know.
Well I had a very quiet weekend, especially for me!! In fact on Sunday, I neither got out my PJ's nor did I leave the house. Ok some of you are saying well if you didn't take your PJ's off, then chances are you didn't leave the house. Aha, you would be wrong, its part of the joy of living in the country without neighbours...I sometimes walk the dogs in my PJ's...lol It is truly a sight to behold!!
After my last blog I put a stat counter out of curiosity and found that so far 346 of you have read my little blog, and I am honestly truly amazed.
I'm not sure that I can keep this up, as I believe that all blogs should be light hearted and some what amusing. We all need a little humour in our life.
With it being, both a MotoGP and World Superbike weekend there are no prizes for guessing what most of my weekend consisted of. I find myself a little flat that Yamaha are (for want of a better word) fannying around with the only remaining seat on the team which just happens to belong to James. We now have a month of rumours and predictions as what could or may happen next. zzzzzzzzzzz Its all getting a bit boring now.
It was great to see Johnny Rae take a win in WSBK, but unfortunately he and Haga had a bit of a coming together resulting in Haga landing on the deck....this means that Ben Spies was now on top of the table....I don't know what it is about him but he makes me wanna throw shoes at the TV...and by this point in the season I'm a dab hand at it...the TV is not pleased....lol
Lots of you are asking about Kevin Carmichael Stunt Rider. Kevin is a good friend and nothing more, never has been and never will be. No offense intended to Kev, who is truely the most unaffected famous person I know. If you do want to know more about Kevin check out kevincarmichael.com He is also the picture on the background of my twitter page. Maybe I should dig out the photos I have of us 2 up, and give you a laugh. If anyone is interested in seeing them, you can always let me know.
The Isle of Man press writes the headline "James finishes 17th at Misano"...it annoys me so much, that I write to the press office. Five minutes later I receive an apologetic email from the editor who swiftly corrects his error...that makes me smile for the day. Maybe I should get a job in James press office...lol
Its now Thursday and things at work (IT Networking) have been pretty busy, so that's has kept me out of trouble for this week...lol
If any of you have by any chance any questions on life, the universe, etc...no seriously...about me...stunting...etc feel free to drop me a line at weeyin13@hotmail.com.
Until next time
Jen xWeeyin13http://www.blogger.com/profile/12062757220385613771noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214534972599667536.post-21286974099747754692009-09-03T04:03:00.000-07:002009-09-03T08:07:03.168-07:00Bikes, Wheelies and my Lily white Ass!Now it is Thursday and I thank the Lord that the weekend is nearly upon us. So its lunchtime and I am pondering what to write in this today. I think today will be about bikes, not the pedal variety but the sexy, sweet and fast engined kind.
I feel that I must explain that my interest in both MotoGP and motorbikes does extend beyond Mr Toseland!!
I have always had an interest in things that are both fast and dangerous. I was one of those children that when told "Don't touch!!" you just knew I was gonna.
Having passed my bike test at 17..a feat that some said was going to be impossible for someone like me...Huh!! What did they know...I happily passed first time with flying colours. They said I had only achieved this by cheating...who..me..no... never...I simply worked the system. When I passed my test all you needed was a bike over 50cc. As you set off on your circuit of the local test centre, the tester would hot foot it through the neighbouring gardens with all the grace, poise and speed of an Olympic hurdler to await you half way round for your emergency stop. I admit that getting your licence then, was alot easier than it is now. So being a little short, getting a proper bike is a little difficult. So I simply got a Honda C90, it was over 50cc and I could do my test without issue.
So woo haa I have a full licence and my biking journeys begin, all be it, on a step-through. Well 2 actually, both of which I blew up. Apparently this happens when you constantly ride off the clock!! Ending when you can cook marshmallows on my exhaust, and I eventually manage to weld the exhaust to the cylinder head....twice!!! Ooops
Next I get a Honda dream - CB400 which my engineer friends chops for me. Its fantastic and noisy and I love it. After many happy miles it becomes very unreliable, and I am again without bike.
My next bike...my baby....is a beautiful CBR400RR gullarm - babyblade grey import and its the most beautiful thing I have ever clapped eyes on. This is in fact a Happy Divorce present to myself..some people do sensible things like buy a home, or have a party. But no, not me, I celebrate my freedom with a new bike...in my eyes a proper super bike.
When I get it back to the garage of my parents house, it sits there looking longingly at me for 3 days, whilst I think that it looks huge, and I may have bitten more off than I can chew. Something I am naturally not prepared to admit!!!
A friend finally puts me and my new baby in the back of a van and takes us to a nearby industrial park after telling me that I might as well take it back to the shop if I'm just gonna sit and look at it!!!
OK deep breaths I can do this...and we're off..at first we are just pottering with no gloves and no helmet. My friend thinks I've dropped it as I have been out of sight for a long time. But just as he starts to walk to come rescue me, from what he thinks is under the bike, he spots me and says all I could see was your smile it was as wide as the Clyde!! After this me and my baby are inseparable and we go everywhere together. I buy her lots of toys like a lovely carbon scorpion race can, carbon hugger, carbon chain guard, racing pegs...all my hard earned cash is spent on her. If I'm not spending on my baby I'm buying the best I can afford in helmets, boots, jackets...and I am loving life!! With twin front brembo's I can pull stoppies and derestricted I can wheelie in just about every gear...by accident of course! As you can tell its a very happy time for me. When I parked her in the street she was admired by many, and when I parked her in the factory car park, she is the only beauty in amongst all the cars. She even gets her own special space. I am now infamous in a factory of 800 people. As I donner about the shop floor on a daily basis, people come to greet me to talk about my baby. Even though I have worked here for many years I have, until my baby never met them. The boys joke that the speed bumps are put in the car park just for me, and we nightly race home. We have 4 beautiful years together before some asshole steals her in the middle of the night and I am truly devastated. It takes another 3 yrs before I can afford to buy another baby but this time I treat myself to my current baby a Ducati Monster 900. More about him later!!
During this time in my life I befriend Kevin Carmichael, on his way to becoming a World Champion Motorcycle Stunt Rider. I am chuffed to be his passenger at some of these rounds. I kid myself into thinking that this is because I have some special hanging on skill...no, not really...in truth its because when you are the size of a handbag and weigh as much as a box of tissues, you make the perfect stunt monkey!!
To this end I suppose I've had my 5 mins of fame, some of you may even have seen me. I have had the pleasure of being wheelied backwards up and down the straight at knockhill, thrashed up and down the Crail Quarter Mile, and stoppied the furthest 2 up distance at the air strip on Skye, and many other interesting events I may bore you with later.
I will leave you with the most important thing I learned during my stunt career.

When changing out of your leathers in the back of the team van...wear shorts under your leathers....or at very least do not attempt this manoeuvre facing backwards out of the van..and definitely not whilst leaning on the back doors....less you might find yourself making more of a lily white ASS of yourself to the spectators who have now gathered at the back of the van waiting to meet Kevin, whilst he opens the back door to put away his helmet, than you may have intended!!! If you were one of those poor soles I am indeed truly sorry....lol
Happy Friday to you all when it comes.
JenxxWeeyin13http://www.blogger.com/profile/12062757220385613771noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214534972599667536.post-19480203227900627792009-09-01T12:03:00.000-07:002009-09-01T14:08:59.700-07:00Welcome to "Titter" !!!As we all know the weekend is far too short and the working week far too long. Before you know it Monday morning is here again.
The alarm goes off at 6am, I turn it off and think just 5 more mins...fatal...the next thing I know is it's 7am. I drag myself out of bed and so Monday begins. I'm on auto pilot as I switch on the iron, my hair straighteners and the kettle, in that order. I stare longingly at the kettle in my non awake daze while the dogs and I wait for the kettle to boil. My dogs already know that when the coffee is made they get a walk. Nothing happens in my house BC (before coffee)!!!
I return to the house to get washed and dressed. Always as I iron my clothes I ask myself "why did I not do this the night before!!!" I drink what is left of my coffee whilst I straighten my hair, and before you know it, I'm heading out the door.
Tuesday is a repeat of the above, only 20 mins later....fantastic I'm going to be late. Probably caused my previous late night tweeting....also a repeat of the night before. Oh yeah, and I decided to write a blog.
My grumpy mood is lifted slightly as I remember the previous evenings conversation on Twitter, and I actually start to giggle. @Mirantha had posted that her and I were on par with our addiction to "Titter"!!! As I read the post I couldn't help but burst into fits of laughter, that got worse as I pictured how we would market such a product. By the time my sides were splitting, I was trying to imagine how the logo would look. Finally I managed to compose myself to the occasional snigger whilst I asked her how the logo would look. Quick as a flash she replied "that would be two logo's!!!" and I am once again killing myself with side splitting laughter. I reckon this is why @Mirantha and I have become the "simmet and drawers", the "Fran and Anna" and as @MartinLewis77 once pointed out "should come with a government health warning" of Twitter. We share such a similar wicked sense of humour. Although we only live miles apart, and have never met, nor did we know one another before Twitter, we get on like a house on fire. Add into the mix @EvilNanny and we then collectively become the "Haggis, Tatties and Neeps" of Twitter, another one of @Mirantha's classic one liners. Though it has to be said that we have yet to decide which one of us is haggis, tatties or neeps. Perhaps some of you could choose?
As I drive to work Yeah, Yeah, Yeah by The Pogues is playing and I'm singing along...note to self...do not sing or car dance at traffic lights with window open. As I glance across at the works van queuing next to me, I discover that they are now singing along with me, whilst copying my head bobbing and laughing at me. But I care not a jot and my mood and rushed morning is now forgotten.Weeyin13http://www.blogger.com/profile/12062757220385613771noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214534972599667536.post-10950601419952727672009-09-01T02:40:00.000-07:002009-09-01T04:46:08.524-07:00The Rambling ContinuesAs I write this it is now Tuesday morning, and I am at work...grrrr!!!!
Sunday
Now my Sunday turned out to be a little more eventful than my Saturday, but maybe a little too eventful! On the last Sunday of every month, I partake in a little competition golf. Yes I do manage to do other things apart from tweet.
This year I joined Annanhill Ladies Golf Club, which is a small club of around 15 lady members who's ages range from mine to Thomson who is 72. Even at 72 she can still put the rest of us to shame with her energetic blast round the course. Having never swung a golf club since I was 11, I thought this would be a good way to beat the recession blues and get at least 4 hours of uninterrupted peace from work related stress. (yes, despite my constant twittering, I actually do have a real job!)
It has turned out to be a godsend this year. Little did I know that I'd actually be good at it. So good in fact, that I won the Club Championship and have received the title of Annanhill Ladies Champion 2009, an honor which is bestowed on few and gives you the privilege of having your name added to board which hangs proudly in the clubhouse. I may add that this has not made me the most popular rookie in the club, and has led to such name calling as "El Ban dido", "Tiger Watson" and "The Shark" all of which I find incredibly funny. Along with the club championship, I have also managed to secure the 4 other main trophies, along with a pile on Wednesday Night Stroke Play matches and a few Sunday Medal matches. In truth, the majority of members have been very supportive, encouraging and full of praise for my success, only a select few have found their jealously hard to hide. The standing joke at the minute is that "69" is my favourite number as I have had 5 in row. This basically makes me very hard to beat and results in my handicap being cut. I am now also the most cut Bronze player, which enters me into some Scottish competition next year. Having never won at anything in my life before, I am naturally very excited about our Prize Giving Evening in late November(Do think James Toseland would like to come up to Scotland and hand them over...a girl can live in hope..lol)
Where was I, oh aye...Sunday - I get up fairly early pre 10am, make coffee, walk the dogs and all the other usual boring an mundane things that we do first thing. My match is around 12.45pm, which should get me back just in time for our club lesson from 6pm - 7pm and then its straight home for MotoGP. Sounds easy enough, nothing difficult there...mmmm
I limit my coffee intake before golf, for one reason and one reason only. There is nowhere to hand in your tinkle ticket on the course. Plenty of trees and bushes, but its not easy when your all wrapped up like a burst pipe. So instead, I prefer just to limit my fluid intake saves any hastle...maybe a little too much info!!!
As usual I have sat around far too long, an grab everything last minute...damn it...the fuel light is on in the car. Off to the garage I go, luckily it's on my way there.
I can see the garage about 500yrds away when my car starts to splutter..Oh no I'm not gonna make it...I start to swerve the car like a rider lining up for the grid after the warm up lap.....wrong...as I put my indicator on to turn the car dies, all the lights come on and I have no power steering. Thankfully nothing is coming and I coast across the junction into the Q8 petrol station and straight to the pump. Geez oh that was lucky I'm thinking. I fill her up with diesel, and pay, but alas she wont start. Its turning over but nothing..damn it..who do I phone first. I'm thinking does this car self-bleed, will it bleed before my battery dies trying. I phone my playing partner, who happens to be just about at the garage, and she files in at the pump behind me. By now the garage is totally swamped, even the tanker has arrived for another delivery and there is chaos...all caused by me blocking the pump. Eventually after a flurry of activity, which includes searching for a towing eye on the car with no luck, I decide jump leads may be the best option..I don't know alot about cars, but enough to know that if I completely flatten the battery my day of golf is over before it starts. As I go to buy them, a nice chap spots my open bonnet and offers his assistance. We push the car forward and away from the pump (only because it takes a petrol pump attendant to point out to a gaggle of men, that the use of jump leads near the pumps may cause injury...who knew!!!..lol) One jump and we're started, and a breathe a huge sigh of relief. The nice man tells me to "boot it" to the golf club. I don't need to be told that twice and I'm off like a rocket with my playing partner left behind to catch up.
We manage 14 out of 18 holes before the rain starts and when we get back, I am beaten by 1 stroke. Aw well you can't win them all!!!
Only the lesson to go and then it will be time for MotoGP. But there has been a mix up and our pro's (who take the lessons) are playing elsewhere, cool means I get to go straight home.
There are no more issues with the car and I get home safely.
I'm met at the door by 3 hungry puppy dogs with their legs crossed, so we all get fed, watered and walked before I get a chance to sit down.
Finally I get dinner and once again enter my virtual twitter world as Mrs Toseland. My tweetdeck lights up like a Christmas tree when I log on, with lots of messages from great and kind peeps from here and across the pond, who already know I am watching James avidly. Messages such as "Aw look he's waving at you" and "I just got my ears blasted off taking this photo for you" make me giggle uncontrollably like a school girl.
The race is excellent, and when my heart rate finally returns to normal I find myself once again awaiting bail from twitterjail...lol
The rest of my evening is spent chatting with like minded individuals and my threat of an early night comes and goes. Resulting in me finally logging off well after midnight. Only then has my weekend finally "kicked the bucket!!".
JenWeeyin13http://www.blogger.com/profile/12062757220385613771noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214534972599667536.post-80477623262902743662009-08-31T13:24:00.001-07:002009-09-01T08:39:13.636-07:00The BlogWell after being asked a few times if I had a blog, I decided today to ask my twitter friends if anyone would actually read it.
So here we are....only one problem...my mind has now gone totally blank!! As I lay in the bath earlier I thought of a multitude of things I could write about, but now as I sit poised over my keyboard...nothing...not even a dickey bird...ho hum.
Suppose we could start with my weekend.
Saturday
Nothing , Nada..didn't do a thing...this is due to the fact that it was my first day off in 14 caused by a small spot of weekend overtime. Well that is not entirely true because as usual I was on twitter some of the day, in between watching the TV and a little housework...which is Jen speak for killing time until MotoGP qualifying came on.
So maybe I should talk about my fascination for Twitter...what is it about Twitter that has loads of us hooked. I'm more than sure that I fit into the category of Twitterholic as find myself logging on at any opportunity, to see what is being said and who is about. My particular favourite at the moment is having a sneaky tweet...
sneaky tweet - a tweet when one should be doing something else IE working!.
I have tried all the likes of bebo, myspace, facebook, msn but none of them have captivated my interest for as long. I am putting this down to the fact that Twitter is instant. I am typically impatient and twitter therefore satisfies my needs to be instantly updated. I of course would be interested to know why YOU think twitter is so popular.
I was forced to get dressed and leave the house for essentials - a carpet picnic!! When I returned home..yup you guessed it...twitter. I turned the TV on to await the qualifying.
For those of you who have crossed over from Twitter to read this and actually tweet with me on a regular basis, you'll know I'm a little bit (understatement of the year!!) of a James Toseland fan. When Twitter sprung into action on my desktop, I was totally humbled by peoples generosity, as I had received a pile of JT photos, and a message from the lovely Suzi Perry about weather conditions and JT's morning warm up. It appears my....(I'm trying to find the right words)...healthy or unhealthy interest in Mr Toseland has gone global, well at least as far as Twitter is concerned. Probably having Mrs Toseland as my tag name and my Toseland Twibbon is making it a little obvious.
Which brings me to another Twitter act of kindness that I feel I must mention. Last week I asked if anyone could make me a Twibbon to show my support for James...I really didn't expect anyone to answer...wrong...within seconds @DavidForster had come to my rescue and by the afternoon I had my wish and a smashing Twibbon...cheers David.
MMM...to think earlier I was struggling what to write, and now I'm rambling on like Victor Meldrew.
Qualifying gets started and I'm frantically trying to tweet and watch TV at the same time. Which usually ends in me having a spell in TwitterJail (caused by too many tweets per hour)and the odd over excited self tweet (a reply to yourself instead of another user). Twitter gets really busy (well at least for me) when MotoGP is on. Q loads of like minded Twitter/MotoGP fans such as @djmissfrenchie (who does an excellent rate the race report for @motoracereports formally @motogptalk)@shadwell1970, @evilnanny, @bev43 to name but a few, all discussing qualifying results...its my favourite twitter time apart from #FollowFriday but we'll not go it that today (phew I hear you saying)
The rest of the night was spent tweeting with Twitter friends and mainly my bestest twitter buddy and partner in crime @Mirantha and @evilnanny, along with the occasional very funny one liner from @SuziPerry.
And so you have it...my Saturday...my Blog.....and enough for now.
As Columbo would say "just one last thing"...if by chance you are reading this and you haven't had the Twitter experience, I urge you to try it you....you won't regret it.
Goto http://www.twitter.com/ and create your account and your ready to go and follow some really interesting people, naturally I include myself in that category.
